The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecast that Los Baños, Laguna will experience the highest heat index at 50°C on Wednesday.
MANILA, Philippines — Los Baños, Laguna is set to experience the highest heat index at 50°C on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
This was recorded at the National Agrometeorological Station-University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna. Pagasa noted in its 5 p.m. Tuesday bulletin that it had peaked at the same heat index for two consecutive days already.

This falls under the “dangerous” category, wherein the heat index ranges from 42°C to 51°C. Pagasa warned that continued heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.

The Department of Health earlier advised the public to wear comfortable clothing, use sun protection, seek a shaded or cool area with proper ventilation, and stay hydrated to avoid any heat-related illnesses.
